TULSA, Okla.-The ORU women's team moved from third to second to finish day one of the 2012 ORU Shootout, presented by Bob Hurley Auto Family, but trails Lamar by 11 shots going into Tuesday's final round at Meadowbrook Country Club. Lamar shot 302-303 (605) to take the lead, while the Golden Eagles fired 306-310 (616) to claim a four-shot lead over Sam Houston State. It is an all-Southland Conference affair at the top as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi rounds out the top four in the tournament.
Julie Aime from Lamar shot 73-73 (146) to claim a one-shot advantage in the individual standings.
For ORU, Alheli Moreno (75-78) and Shinwoo Lee (77-76) led the way with scores of 153, finishing the day tied for ninth overall. Tiffany Robbins improved two shots in the second round firing 78-76 for a 154, tied for 13th, one shot behind her teammates.
Paola Aviles shot 76-80 (156), tying for 21st overall, while Alejandra Acosta shot 78-83 (161) to finish the day tied for 44th.
Playing as individuals in their home tournament, Ashton Collier tied for 13th overall after shooting 73 in the second round, following an 81 in the first round (154). Ashley Rand shot 87-97 (184) to finish the day 73rd overall.
The third and final round of the 2012 ORU Shootout will start at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from Meadowbrook Country Club.
