MURFREESBORO, Tenn.-The ORU women's golf team improved four shots and moved into a tie with Troy for 13th overall at the Blue Raider Invitational on Monday. The Golden Eagles shot 309-305 (614) to finish one shot back of UTEP, UMKC and Western Kentucky, while the hosts from Middle Tennessee State hold a commanding seven-stroke lead over the rest of the field at 590 (299-291).
Alheli Moreno was consistent, shooting 76-76 (152), tying for 34th overall, while teammate Alejandra Acosta was just one shot back (77-76) at 153 to tie for 39th, leading the way for ORU.
Shinwoo Lee, who had the best opening round for ORU (75), shot 79 in the second round and finished the day at 154, tied for 43rd. Tiffany Robbins shot 81 in the first round and improved to tie Lee for the best round of the day with a 75 in the second, finishing at 156, tied for 60t.
Rounding out the ORU finishers was Ashton Collier, who shot 82-78 (160) to tie for 72nd overall.
The third and final round from Old Fort Golf Club will start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
