TULSA, Okla.-After going a perfect 2-0 in exhibition play, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team will take the court for real on Friday, November 9 as they face UTEP in the season opener for both teams. The contest will tip off at 8 p.m. inside the Don Haskins Center.
Friday's game will be broadcast live online only through www.ORUGoldenEagles.com. Video of the game can be found for a small fee through MinerTV at www.UTEPAthletics.com.
ORU had five players score in double figures and Damen Bell-Holter grabbed double-digit rebounds for the second time in as many games as the Golden Eagles blew out Oklahoma Wesleyan 92-69 in the final exhibition game of the year.
UTEP played just one exhibition game, beating Southeastern Oklahoma 70-63 on Saturday. The Miners return three starters and six letterwinners from last year's 15-17 squad and signed two players who were regarded as top-100 signees last season.
Surprisingly, ORU and UTEP have never met on the hardwood, but the leaders of their respective teams have met twice previously, both while Tim Floyd was at Southern California. Each coach has claimed one victory over the other.
