TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University was swept on Sunday night, 5-0, by TCU at the Case Tennis Complex. The loss drops ORU to 0-5 on the season.
TCU (6-3) started the day by winning all three doubles matches. Nick Chappell and Will Stein took an 8-5 decision from Jason Mechali and Pedro Moreno on the top court, while Max Stevens and Rodolfo Bustamante outlasted Nathaniel Avery and Fabian Zierleyn on the second court, also by an 8-5 count. In the third flight, Facundo Lugones and Blake Wiggins knocked off Parker Allen and Braxton Bates, 8-3.
The Horned Frogs scored victories on all four of the completed singles courts. Orlando Superlano took down Mechali in the second flight, 6-1, 6-1, and Bustamante beat Moreno in the third flight, 6-1, 6-0.
On court five, Stein took a 6-0, 6-0 win from Avery, and Wiggins won a tight match over Bates in the sixth flight, 6-3, 6-2.
Matches on courts one and four were halted in progress after TCU secured a fifth point.
ORU will return to action on Sunday, February 17, when they face Arkansas at 3 pm.
