TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team looks to get back on track on Tuesday evening in the friendly confines of J.L. Johnson Stadium as they host a very good Missouri State team. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
ORU (9-18, 4-2) is coming off a pair of back-to-back losses to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the road, after taking the first game of the series. MSU (18-6, 3-0) has won four straight contests, including a victory over Southeast Missouri State and a sweep of Illinois State to open Missouri Valley play last weekend.
The Bears are led at the plate by Tate Matheny with a .406 average and Luke Voit who has driven in 19 runs this season. Voit has the Golden Eagles number last season as the Bears took three of four games.
Overall, the Golden Eagles hold the all-time series over the Bears, 26-17. Unfortunately, the team from Springfield, Mo., has won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two schools located just under three hours apart. The series dates back to 1979.
