CONWAY, Ark. - Oral Roberts University fell in Southland Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, suffering a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Central Arkansas. The loss drops ORU to 2-10 (1-6 SLC) on the season.

ORU earned a victory in the first match of the day, with Marizanne Bouwer and Haley Martin scoring an 8-6 win over Allison Murphy and Simona Horsikyan in No. 1 doubles. But the Sugar Bears (7-12, 1-5 SLC) won the last two pairs matches to secure the point. Sasha Ruocco and Krizia Buck scooted past Tori Dollar and Melanie Marlin, 8-2, while Kristina Horsikyan and Anna Buyukyan doubled up Natalia Dollar and Rachel Scroggs, 8-4.

Central Arkansas dropped just one set in six singles wins. Simona Horsikyan won the featured court over Martin, 6-3, 6-2, while Murphy was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Marlin on the second court. Kristian Horsikyan downed Bouwer, 6-1, 6-2, to wrap up the top half of the draw with a third flight win.

ORU earned their lone singles set of the day on court four, where Tori Dollar fell to Buck, 6-4, 5-7, 10-4. Ruocco bested Natalia Dollar on court five, 6-1, 6-0, and Buyukyan stopped Scroggs on the sixth court, 6-0, 6-1.

The Golden Eagles will look to rebound on Thursday afternoon, when they clash with Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
