CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Haley Martin earned a pair of victories on Sunday afternoon but Oral Roberts University ended the 2013 season with a 6-1 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Golden Eagles close the season with a 2-12 record (1-8 Southland Conference).

Martin teamed with Marizanne Bouwer to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Doris Kuselj and Stefania Nicolae. At No. 1 singles, Martin took the first set from Kuselj, 6-4, then chalked up the victory after Kuselj retired.

The other seven matches went to the Islanders (15-3, 7-2 SLC), starting with two doubles wins. Chelsea Horan and Sandra Burges won the second court, 8-0, over Melanie Marlin and Tori Dollar, while Mia Matuszak and Maider Martin beat Natalia Dollar and Rachel Scroggs, 8-3.

At No. 2 singles, AMCC’s Martin knocked off Marlin, 6-1, 6-1, and the third flight belonged to Nicolae after Bouwer retired in the second set. The fourth court was the domain of Burges, a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Tori Dollar, and Matuszak put away Natalia Dollar on court five, 6-1, 6-0. The sixth and final singles court was won by Leanne Mascall, 6-0, 6-1, over Scroggs.
