TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University women’s soccer team and cross-town rival Tulsa are set for the 22nd meeting between the two programs as they face off at the Case Soccer Complex on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
ORU enters the matchup looking for its second 3-0 start in school history as they topped Missouri State 2-1 to begin the season and knocked off UMKC, 3-2, last Friday at home. The Golden Hurricane (3-1) is coming off their lone loss of the season at Arkansas, 1-0.
First-year Head Coach Roger Bush will face his alma mater for the first time, while former Golden Eagle coach Kyle Cussen will roam the TU sideline.
Last season, the two squads battled for 110 minutes with the contest ending in a 1-1 draw. ORU’s goal came during the 35th minute on an own goal. Helen Erb had an outstanding contest, recording nine saves.
Senior Bradi Hinch leads the Golden Hurricane through four matches. The Jenks native has scored two of the team’s six goals.
An ORU victory on Friday will give the program its first outright victory over the Golden Hurricane since 2007. During that span, two matches ended in a draw. TU leads the overall series 12-4-5.
